NEXT STEPS

CONNECT > GROW > SERVE

Life is filled with questions like:

  • Is God real?

  • Who is Jesus?

  • What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?

  • Does my life have purpose?

Thankfully, God has a plan for your life and answers to all of these questions. Oak Grove wants to help you know what your next step should be toward spiritual maturity.  The following is what discipleship looks like at Oak Grove - the process of growing in spiritual maturity as a follower of Jesus.

CONNECT

The first step is for people to arrive. To arrive to church and to arrive at the place where you find the Lord as your Savior and come to a saving faith in Christ. We believe the greatest need in every person’s life is to connect with Jesus and His local church. One of our great passions is introducing people to the Lord Jesus and seeing them experience His love and restoration in their lives. We would love the opportunity to introduce you to Jesus Christ.

For many, the weekend worship service is their first step in connecting to Jesus and His people. Oak Grove encourages authenticity and relationship, come as you! Share yourself with others, be willing to make friends, and expect to hear from the Lord in your time at church. You will find here a family who will love, encourage, and challenge you to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus.

GROW

The next step in the discipleship process is connection and spiritual growth. Romans 12 calls believers to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. We believe life transformation happens best in the context of small groups. Once a person connects with Christ and His church, the next logical step is to connect with a small group of believers in the context of biblical community. At Oak Grove, we believe it is vital for you to be connected to the church through small groups. We would love to help you find a place to take your next step here at Oak Grove.

SERVE

The last step in the discipleship process is to go - to strive to live our and share the Gospel with our community and the world. We want Oak Grove to reach out and serve one another in the church and others outside of the church. We want to be so relevant and tangible that people know who we are and the influence that our church has made for the Gospel of Christ. This is a great summation of what it means to reach out and serve one another. Oak Grove’s mission statement says that we are to lead our neighbors to know and be changed by Jesus. Whether in our own backyards, in the local community, or serving alongside one of our international partners, we strive to reach out, serve, and make a difference. Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations, so we go, using our spiritual giftedness to be a blessing in the church, to our neighbors and to the nations.
